6-Week Visual Art  Foundations Program  for adults "Anatomy of the Forms"

Dear all! Iris Art Studio is happy to announce a new course for adults. We welcome complete beginners, as well as anyone with some art experience who wants to take their skills to a new level.

Elevate your creative practice from a casual hobby to a new level. This is  a Professional Visual Art Program designed for adults ( 18+) who want to move beyond surface-level techniques and master one of the most important skills in visual art: drawing 3D forms correctly.

We believe that true artistic mastery isn't achieved in a few weeks, but through a understanding of the "why" behind every stroke. If you are ready to look deep into the subject and commit to the journey of becoming more professional in your hobby, this curriculum is for you.

"The Anatomy of Form"

Our 6 weeks program focuses on the Anatomy of Three-Dimensional Forms. We move past flat outlines to study the structural "bones" of the world around us. You will learn to see objects as geometric volumes, understanding how light interacts with mass and how perspective dictates space.  learning to accurately construct the sphere, cylinder, ellipse, cube and  essential rules of one and two-point perspective.

Throughout the term, you will bridge the gap between technical exercises and creative expression by producing:

Life Drawings: Capturing real-world subjects and still life setups through direct observation.

Step-by-Step Sketches: Developing a systematic approach to building complex images from simple geometric foundations.

 ✔️ Homework: For students who are serious about their progress, we provide a homework to solidify your classroom learning.

 ✔️What will students gain?

Students will complete a variety of pencil drawing exercises to practise construction drawing, shading, and creating volume. They will also draw from life (such as fruits, a vase, or a cup) and create architectural sketches to develop their understanding of linear perspective.

The legendary artist Paul Cézanne once said:   

"Treat nature by means of the cylinder, the sphere, the cone, everything brought into proper perspective."

By the end of this program, you will do exactly that. By looking deep into these basic forms, you unlock the ability to draw the entire world with clarity and confidence. Whether you want to draw portraits, landscapes, or still life, the knowledge you gain here will be the foundation for every masterpiece you create in the future.
